The Syracuse Orange were defeated by the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 17-7 in the Orange’s 2021 home opener.

Head coach Dino Babers opened his 6th season coaching the Orange to a solid week one win at Ohio, 29-9, but the home debut left a lot to be desired.

The Orange move to 1-1, and Rutgers is now 2-0 for the first time since 2014. The Orange play against Albany next, hoping to rebound against a weaker FCS program.
