After a heartbreaking road loss to Florida State, Syracuse returned home to face the No. 19 Wake Forest Demon Deacons, the Orange’s first ranked matchup of the season.
Despite a fantastic day from quarterback Garrett Shrader, including 178 yards rushing and three total touchdowns, Syracuse fell in overtime, 40-37 after a walk-off Wake Forest score.
Wake quarterback Sam Hartman threw three touchdowns, all to A.T. Perry, who also had 137 yards receiving.
The loss sets the Orange at 3-3, with a date with the Clemson Tigers next week in the Dome.
